Water Reuse 2030

The Water Reuse 2030 project was created to evaluate critical social, economic and technical issues and develop a vision of water reuse in the year 2030. Three scenarios, consisting of generalised observations, are being considered in order to highlight the scale and scope of challenges that will shape and influence water reuse in the industrialised world during the next two decades. These developed scenarios and conclusions drawn from surveys and research
will be debated at a series of two expert workshops: the first focusing on water reuse in the United States, and the second focusing on global reuse issues.

AusAID-IAH UNESCO Workshop: International Research Linkages for Water Recycling via Aquifers

The workshop is to be conducted in two sessions; the morning session is open for all Reuse09 attendees, to discuss the operating and water quality issues at managed
aquifer recharge sites. While the second session will only be open to participants of the AusAID project: Australia-China MAR Training workshop.

Session 1  - $30 for Delegates
Session 1  - $70 for Non Conference delegates

Session 2 - By Invitation only

Decentralised Systems

Distributed systems are providing recycled water solutions in a growing range of situations – from urban to rural, from household to medium-scale, from a range of sources –
blackwater, greywater, industrial water. In meeting the growing demand for such schemes, there are significant regulatory challenges requiring scientific evidence in decision making. In this workshop, we will discuss Australian and international approaches to their regulation, present numerous case studies of distributed recycled water scheme implementation, consider risk management approaches to ensure public and environmental safety and finally discuss and debate the challenges facing their uptake and support across the water sector.

Workshop: The use of Ceramic Membranes for Water Reuse
Sponsored by PWN Technologies

As part of the Congress PWN will sponsor and host a workshop on the use of ceramic membranes for water reuse. Speakers will include Tony Fane, UNSW;  Peer Kamp, CTO of PWN Technologies; and Jonathan Clement, Black & Veatch. Significant research and development has been going on across the world with regard to ceramic membranes. Ceramic membranes because of their robustness can play an important
role in water reuse. In this workshop significant new developments of ceramics membranes both from a treatment and engineering perspective will be discussed.
